An addition to OÜ Palktare’s product lineup in 2004 was laminated logs.
We recommend a laminated solution if you do not like the characteristic cracks that appear when natural logs dry. Such natural irregularities are prevented through gluing together carefully selected and prepared wood laminate.
Since the laminate is chamber-dried to a 12-14% moisture level (natural logs are dried to 18-22%, generally speaking), laminated log houses will settle markedly less than that seen in natural log houses.
A wall erected of natural logs will settle 3-4% per vertical meter, but in the case of laminated logs, this figure is under 2%. This fact makes construction simpler and makes laminated log houses more user-friendly—walls of laminated logs require less user regulation.
Laminated log technology allows walls in widths up to 250 mm to be manufactured and in this case no additional insulation is needed for a house.
The laminated logs used at Palktare are certified and produced by one of the world’s leading manufacturers of glued timber products, Lameco.
In cooperation with these specialists in laminated log manufacturing, we are able to offer you guaranteed quality that lasts for years.
