We are pleased to announce that Palktare’s hard-working team has moved into its new log-house headquarters in Tõdva.
This is our first house designed and produced in the so-called City type , intended to be built in residential and urban-zoned environments. Functional design, openness and individuality are the keywords that describe the City type buildings. Our new offices are a modified version of the Seeder template, with the interior plans adapted to the needs of a busy office.
How are City type houses different from traditional log houses?
• Contemporary – stands for a new technical and architectural solution. Frame walls are used for the interior walls, opening up the possibilities for interior design and development of spatial solutions.
• A thick laminated log wall does away with a need for insulation – the thick do not need additional insulation and the log house retains its characteristic ability to “breathe”, it has natural moisture regulation.
• Short corner joints – this technological innovation is an ideal solution for urban environments where it is complicated to get a building permit for log houses with longer corner joints. Our City type houses lack the characteristic interlocking corners of log houses. Instead a short corner is used. The corner joints can later be covered with a wide strip of corner trim if a need for this is indicated.
Without exception, City type house projects are produced on our new state of the art Hundegger K2 system, a fully automated joinery machine which ensures a high level of readiness, quality and construction speed.
